Stunningly Mermaid...
Una Sirena di Stephanie è perfetta per questo post.... Tornata (quasi...) alla normalità di un blog ordinato, una sirena che io adoro introduce la tranquillità riconquistata e il lavoro che ho terminato, firmato Ellen Chester. Un piccolo necessaire portaforbice e filati del quale avevate visto il dietro, dal facile nome: "Maidens of the Sea". E' realizzato su un bel lino Sea Storm della Lakeside con sete Crescent Belle Soie, Gloriana, Needlepoint e Thread Gatherer, insieme al suo piccolo fob:
A Stephanie's Mermaid is a perfect opening for this post... Back (well... almost back!) to a neat blog paging, a Mermaid I love is the elegant figure that introduces my conquered blog peacefulness and the stitched work I finished while ago, an Ellen Chester idea. It's a small sewing case with its matching scissor weight, you saw the back of it on a previous post, that has the easy name of "Maidens of the Sea". It's stitched on a lovely Sea Storm linen by Lakeside using Crescent Belle Soie, Gloriana, Needlepoint and Thread Gatherer silks:
Ho fatto qualche modifica, non nel disegno ma negli "accessori" (non capisco perchè i designer non si decidono a fare dei chartpack "tutto compreso", in modo da avere tutti i piccoli particolari che contano e che abbelliscono lo loro creazioni...):per esempio il pesciolino che io ho messo sul fob nell'originale è un charmettino in metallo a forma di cavalluccio marino...
I've changed some accent, not changing the stitched piece but just finding some different touch to add to (I still do not understand why the designers sell only patterns instead of chartpacks "all inclusive", so we stitchers can have all those needed findings that make the design so special...): for exemple the fish I've added to the fob is my idea, because I didn't find the original seahorse pewter charm....
Ecco la pochette aperta e girata, dove ci sono un bel veliero e un faro a piccolo punto. Anche il fob sul retro ha una immagine, quella dei pesciolini che fanno compagnia alle sirene!
Here's the needlecase back, where I stitched a lovely ship and an over one lighthouse. The fob has on its back three little fishes, mermaids friends!
E l'interno è particolare perchè ha una tasca, con ancora le sirene, che può contenere forbicine o i pesciolini portafilo. Per i filati da ricamo ci sono tre anellini a cuore; dovevano essere due, con in mezzo un cavalluccio marino fattto ritagliando un pezzo di lana dal colore particolarissimo... già... e dove lo potevo trovare??? Così per non pasticciare ho messo un anellino in più. Se troverò la lana che serve potrò sempre aggiungerla!
And the inside is very cute, because it has a pocket for scissors or for those little fishes-thread winders, with mermaids on it. There are heart shaped rings for threads: they were supposed to be two, with a seahorse in the middle made with a wool felt piece... the problem is where to fint that kind of wool felt color!!! So I've decided to add one more ring, easily replaceable if I will find that nowhere to be found felt...
Piccola curiosità: ci sono pesciolini ricamati anche all'interno della tasca... :D
