Ed ora lasciatemi descrivere il successivo passo della Eve's Box. Si tratta del grazioso fob che ho preparato in un lampo, con un piccolo charm fatto a pulcino:

Sapete cosa manca ora? Il needlebook, cioè il porta aghi, e la banda interna alla scatola (la cosa più difficile, secondo me!!!) completeranno questo insieme:

Ma si... si che si vede!!! E' proprio lì in mezzo... Vero che lo avete trovato??? E allora eccolo qui, il finto hornbook portaforbici e aghi, creato partendo da un disegno di Ellen Chester! Non so come mi è venuto in mente, credo sia colpa della mia passione per gli hornbook che è ormai fuori controllo...
Come on... it's easy to see it!!! It's right in the middle.... You already find it, right??? So there it is, the fake hornbook/scissor holder/needle holder, created starting from a Ellen Chester design! I don't know where I found this inspiration; I think it's because of my hornbooks mania, that is out of control...
L'ho ricaamato su lino Graziano, con il filato tinto a mano regalatomi da Helen (grazie ancora tantissimo!!!) e, come potete vedere, sul dietro ho aggiunto una deliziosa stoffettina, un pezzetto di pizzo antico e un nastro per trattenere le forbici e un pezzo di feltro per gli aghi... pensa sia carino!
I've done it on a Graziano linen cut, with the Carrie's Creation hand dyed floss received from Helen (a biiiiiiiiig thanks again!!!) and as you can see on its back, I've added a lovely matching fabric, an ancient lace piece and a ribbon to hold a scissor and a felt cut for needles... I tink it's cute!
Adesso ho un altro hornbook che mi aspetta, direttamente dalle Fees Brodeuses. Per non parlare del resto degli accessori della Eve's Box!! :D
Now I have a new hornbook waiting for me in my stash pile, directly from Les Fees Brodeuses. And don't forget the Eve's Box accessories!!! :D
Saper finire un lavoro... Capita di non esserne capaci, così si chiede aiuto. E così è successo che una amica mi ha chiesto di finirle un paio di lavori, in modo da avere qualcosa di diverso dai soliti quadri (è anche lei parte de "Le mani che ricamano"), e io ho eseguito. Questo è il risultato, che spero piaccia:
To know how to finish a stitched piece... It happens that it's difficult to do, so maybe it's better to be helped. That's what happened to a friend of mine, who asked me to finish for her a couple of lovely little works just to have something different from the "usual" framed cross stitch (she is part of my group "Le mani che ricamano"). Here's what I have done and I hope she will appreciate them:

Vi invito alla mostra 2007 de "Le Mani che Ricamano", il 1 e 2 Dicembre a Bareggio: ospiti di quest'anno saranno eccezionalmente Les Fèes Brodeuses e le nostre care affezionate amiche Giulia Manfredini di Giulia Punti Antichi e Laura Lattuada di Passione Ricamo.
E' un evento importante per noi e anche emozionante. Potrete vedere dal vivo tanti lavori e parlare con alcune delle più importanti firme del puntocroce.

I've had a wonderful surprise for my birthday: a package, a lovely package, from Japan!!
I was wordless when close to my door I found a biiiiig white envelope, so "puffy" :D and when I opened it I had some breathtaking moment: inside there was a so well made package, made with a lot of care care and so lovely and with so many wonderful details that I had some doubt about to open it or keep it forever closed to not damage it!!!!!
Yuko è una amica speciale, gentile e premurosa, ed è riuscita a sorprendermi con un sacco di cose carine, una più bella dell'altra, e mi tremavano le mani mentre scoprivo poco a poco tutto quello che c'era nel pacchetto... Bocca aperta e occhi spalancati... ma guardate cosa mi ha inviato:
A sinistra potete vedere una bellissima borsettina, qui aperta, perfettamente cucita e ricamata, con scritto "Per una cara amica"; eccola invece chiusa: bellissima!!! E guardate il dettaglio dei terminali in legno del cordoncino, sono bellissimi!!!
On the left, that's a open lovely purse, perfectly sewed and stitched, that say "For a dearest friend"; here it is once closed: so cuuuuuuuuuuuuute!!! Look at the detail: the wooden ends of the lovely cording are wonderful!
E questo è un carinissimo puntaspilli montato su cestino, contornato da altri piccoli pensieri come bottoncini in pizzo, un filato coloratissimo e spillini a rosa fatti da Yuko stessa!
And here's a lovely basket-pincushion, with little gifts around like the lace buttons, a lovely multicolor thread and cute roses pins made by Yuko herself!!
E ha anche aggiunto ai regali qualcuno dei suoi meravigliosi sottobicchieri a goccia!!! Fatti con bellissimi tessuti sui toni del rosa e con perle, sono così romantici! Eccoli, insieme al biglietto d'auguri, il castinetto puntaspilli e la cartolina di uno dei più affascinanti edifici del mondo, il Castelli di Himeji (e Yuko è così fortunata da vivere lì vicino!!!)
And she enclosed to the package even some of her wonderful drop coasters!!!!! Made with nice pink shaded fabrics and white pearls, they are so romantic! Here they are, with the nice b-day card, the basket pincushion and a postcard of one of the most beautiful buildings of the world, the Himeji Castle (yes, she's so lucky to live close to it!!!)

Vi ricordate del primo Prairie Sampler Hornbook? Un piccolo delizioso ricamo fatto seguendo colori e indicazioni dello schema. Avendo anche il suo compagno, il Black Lion Sampler Hornbook, ho deciso questa volta di cambiarne colori e significato:

Because I have another hornbook from The Prairie Sampler, the Black Lion Sampler Hornbook, I've decided this time to change its colors, changing even the meaning of the stitched piece:
Ecco cosa ho ottenuto: due leoni dorati, fieri e scintillanti, vicini ad una casa che brilla come loro... Cosa ne dite, ho fatto bene? :D
This is what I got: two golden lions, proud and shining, close to a house, glowing like them. What do you think: did I a right conversion? :D
Per meglio finire l'hornbook ho aggiunto un piccolo cuscinetto riempito con il riso :D usando un motivo del sampler e la mia iniziale sul retro... Beh... ADORO GLI HORNBOOKS!!!
To best finish the hornbook, I've added a little pillow stuffed with rice :D with a motif from the sampler and my initial on its back.... Well, I LOVE HORNBOOKS!!!
