Exchange... per me il primissimo!!! Tempo fa la dolce Becky mi ha invitata a far parte di uno scambio stagionale, e io ho accettato. Mi è stato dato un nome e un indirizzo a cui spedire qualcosa fatto da me che rappresentasse le stagioni, uno per ogni periodo. E chi mi era stato assegnato??? Nientemeno che Su, una persona dolcissima dal blog strepitoso e pieno di cose bellissime!!!
Così ho cercato qualcosa di speciale per l'estate, l'ho confezionato, l'ho spedito e... ho incrociato le dita sperando che le piacesse. Beh.... le è piaciuto eccome!!!! Mi ha riempita di complimenti e io sono al settimo cielo!!!
Ma ecco cosa le ho madato:
Exchange... for me the very first!!! Time ago, my sweet friend Becky asked me to join a Seasonal Exchange, and I said yes! I had my exchangers name, I had her adress and the mission to stitch something for her, a piece for each season. Guess her name... Su !!! She'a a lovely stitcher with a gorgeous blog fulfilled with magnificent works!!
So I've tried to find something special, I've stitched it, finished it, sent it... and I crossed my fingers hoping she love it!!! Well, she love it soooooo much!!! She told me wonderful words about it and now I'm in Heaven!!!

Dopo aver finito il Sampler Basket, ho terminato anche i relativi accessori: cuscinetto puntaspilli, libricino per gli aghi e fob per la forbice.
Relativamente semplici e veloci da realizzare, sono stati un puro divertimento anche da assemblare. Nel piccolo fob, l'imbottitura è costituita da... riso! Così prevedeva lo schema e così ho fatto!
After the lovely Sampler Basket, I've completed its accessories: pincushion, needlebook and scissor fob.
They have been quite simple and quick to stitch, and I had pure pleasure finishing them. Little peculiarity: the tiny scissor fob is stuffed with... rice!!! That was suggested by Mrs. Rudnicky, so I did!
E questo è un ingrandimento del needlebook: le piccole spolette in metallo sono graziosissime!!!
And this is a close-up of the needlebook: those little metal spools are soooo cute!!!

Come sapete leggendo il blog, mi piacciono molto gli hornbooks: li trovo particolari e creativi e sono sempre in cerca di nuovi disegni e nuove forme e finiture. Tempo fa ho trovato un chartpack di "The Prairie Sampler", fatto in South Carolina, e non ho potuto far altro che aggiungerlo alla collezione... e ora è terminato!
Si tratta del "Sampler Hornbook", realizzato uno su uno su lino Glenshee 29 ct. color Muffin con dei filati in seta tinti a mano, per me nuovi, della serie Belle Soie Crescent Colors. Facile da fare, senza punti speciali, per una volta :D, e dal sapore antico.
As you know by reading my blog, I love to death hornbooks and wooden accessories: I think they are so unique and creative and I always look here and there trying to find new designs, new shapes and new way to finish them. Months ago, I've find a new chartpack with hornbook included by "The Prairie Sampler", proudly designed in South Carolina, and I was so happy to add it to my stash... well, now I've stitched it and completed it!
It's the cute "Sampler Hornbook", stitched over one using linen Glenshee 29 ct. Muffin color, with hand dyed silk threads, new to me, made by Belle Soie - Crescent Colors.
Easy to stitch, without special stitches, finally :D , and with an antique look.
Ho aggiunto una "pastiglia" ripetendo il ricamo del vaso (e confesso che ho "copiato" in questo la mia amica di scorribande Paola, anche lei affascinata dagli hornbooks...) tanto per dare quel tocco speciale in più... Ma ecco dei dettagli. Mi piace molto la scritta: Be to others kind true. Ne abbiamo bisogno tutti di tanta gentilezza in più!!!
I've added a little charm, repeating on it the vase motif (I confess I've copied my friend Paola...) just to give to it a special touch... Here are some details. I love so much the phrase: Be to Others kind true... We all need more kindness!! :)

Un altro Hillside Samplings è quasi completato... Il cesto da ricamo del 1995 "Sampler Sewing Basket" ha finalmente preso vita ed ora aspetta solo il completamento degli accessori. E' stato un vero divertimento da ricamare, con tanti punti diversi e richiami all'hardanger.
One more... one more Hillside Samplings project is almost done... The 1995 project "Sampler Sewing Basket " is finally done and now it's waiting for its accessories. It has been a pure pleasure tio stitch, with all its lovely special stitches and those hardanger sections.
Hecco la parte con il sampler: tutte le lettere sono fatte in modo differente, usando punti diversi come lo smirna, il punto lanciato, l'occhiello algerino
Here the Sampler in a close up piccie: all the letters are stitched with different special stitches, like smyrna, algerian eyelet and slanted stitches
E qui ecco uno dei quattro motivi hardanger, davvero semplici e belli una volta terminati; non mi era mai capitato prima di far cose così...
And here a close up of one of the hardanger motifs, very simple to make and so lovely once finished; I've never stitched anything like this before...

Cosa si ricama d'estate? Fa caldo.... le mani sudano.... non è proprio la stagione giusta per creare qualcosa proprio con le mani! Ma, se in aiuto arriva il fresco dei temporali estivi, beh, allora è un'altra cosa!!!!
Quindi perchè non buttarsi su un progetto nuovo?
What could be stitched during summertime? It's hot outside.... our hands sweat... it's not the right season for a handmade creation such an embroidered piece! But if a sudden summer rainfall comes to bring some fresh air, well, it's stitching time!!!
So why not to start a new wonderful project???
Il bel Sampler Sewing Basket di Hillside Samplings sembra essere il progetto perfetto, anche per la banda di spesso lino utilizzata: un sacco di punti speciali, mai noioso e veloce da completare!!!The lovely Sampler Sewing Basket from Hillside Samplings seems to be the perfect project, because of the thick linen band used for it: a lot of special stitches, never boring and fast to complete!!!
