Mah...
Little blog post: I'm working and not only cross stitching, ...! So I can just show you this pinkeep, born from a design by LHN-Crescent Colours threads kit, that it's not at all a masterpiece! I don't like it at all... I have to find another way to finish it, I think. It was supposed to be a nice design, but once finished I've changed my mind: from there my frustration to find out how to give it a good look... But I failed... :o(

It's not completed, not yet, but... it's a little treasure! It's my first Merry Cox, project I made thanks to my sweet friends as I've told you before, and it's almost done. I still have to finish the pincushion: I have to figure out how to finish/assemble it, to complete it at its best and how Merry completed it!

I add some picture of each set component, especially of the little treasured box: it has been assembled with a postcard inside, sent me from USA from a dearest friend of mine...

To see the effect in a better way, here a picture with mooooooooore light... :o) :o) :o)

One more... I've just finished my little sweet ABC Hornbook by La Silphide Toquèe and I've added it to my little "just started" hornbooks collection. It was a little naked to me, so I've added some finishing accent: some cording around the stitched piece and a nice variegated tassel to the hornbook.

And here's my collection, with the new "member" :D

I've always had a particular passion for wooden embroidery related objects: handpainted or not, to complete or already finished... From here my deep love for hornbooks, Liberty Hill's boxes and objects, different wooden things like thread keepers and thread winders.
This couple of things I've pictured is pefect IMHO: the Quaker Hornbook by With My Needle (finished today... wow Ellen, it's a stunning piece once finished!!!) and a wonderful Shaker Button Box that comes from New England, handmade by Amos Roberts.
I've stitched the hornbook one over one, and the Quaker design has been a real pleasure to finish; the Crescent thread Mylady's Teal is a nice shade of blue: simply elegant!

I would like to say thanks to a special person:
Mrs. Elizabeth "Ebeth" Talledo
designer of
The Dames of the Needle.
Thanks so much for your wonderful gift:

I've contacted her to say how I was happy to stitch her Americana Box and we had a nice chit chat together. Yesterday the mailman delivered to me a small package... and inside three wonderful Americana little boxes, handpainted, from Ebeth;
with them a nice button and a lovely message from her.
Isn't she cute???
It's up to me now to find the way to "dress" this boxes to be perfect companions!

Punto dopo punto, ecco come avanzano i due hornbooks che sto ricamando uno su uno. Stili differenti, ma deliziosi entrambi.
Stitch after stitch, here's the progress of those two wonderful hornbook I'm working at, stitching one over one. Different styles but with the same appeal...
