Winter exchange to Simone!


Buone Feste!!! Natale è passato ma per fortuna il mio exchange a Simone è arrivato in tempo: la vigilia di Natale il postino lo ha consegnato alla mia amica!
Per lei ho creato un ornamento molto speciale, praticamente un necessaire da appendere sull'albero quando non si usa.... Per il disegno, si tratta di un Prairie Schooler tratto da un JCSOrnaments, mentre il lino è un belfast verde 32 count, il tutto confezionato con DMC e stoffina Moda Fabric:

Greetings!!! Christmas has gone already, but luckily my exchange to Simone has been delivered right on time to her: at the Christmas Eve the Postman  visited her house giving her my packet!!
For Simone I've created a very special ornament, it's a stitcher's necessaire that can be on a christmas tree when not in use.... I've stitched a Prairie Schooler ornament from a JCS Ornament issue on a green belfast linen, 32 ct. , using DMC threads:


La fragolina è staccabile, da usare come cuscinetto puntaspilli e il bottoncino ricoperto si stacca per coprire l'automatico sulla fragolina....
Ecco il retro, con la forbice e la fragolina staccata...

The strawberry can be detached and used as a pincushion and the covered checkered button is detachable too to be used to cover the snap button on the strawberry..
Here's the back side with a scissors pocket and the detached strawberry:


Al pacchetto ho aggiunto anche qualche goodie come un fob fatto da me, una stoffina, un thè di Natale... Simone ha fotografato tutto :D

To the package I've added some goodies like a handmade fob, some fabric, a Christmas tea.... Simone has pictures of them!! :D

'Twas the night before Christmas...


'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Grazie!!!!!



Cosa dire..... GRAZIE! Grazie a chi è venuto alla mostra, anche da lontano, grazie a chi ha fatto i complimenti a Le Mani che Ricamano, grazie a chi a postato le foto, come Carmen, Sara, Mila, Pam, Sonia, Pat ... Insomma a tutte le visitatrici e visitatori (includo i gentili consorti... sempre martiri delle spedizioni delle cross stitchers DOC!!! Grazie anche a voi che ce le portate e pazientemente sopportate!!!) che si sono strette intorno a noi, portandoci un sacco di gioia!!
Grazie anche alle ospiti: Laura Lattuada, Les Fèes Brodeuses e Patrizia Martellini. Siete state dolcissime ed è stato meraviglioso condividere con voi due giorni splendidi, fatti di chiacchere e di risate. Come avremmo fatto senza di voi??
Grazie anche a chi ci ha supportate da lontano, la splendida Anita Diamond, una persona speciale nel mio cuore, e Marinella Paoletti, che spero vivamente di conoscere di persona!

What can I say..... THANKS! Thanks to who visited the show, even coming from far away, thanks who has  to Le Mani che Ricamano, thanks to who posted many pictures of the gathering like Carmen, Sara, Mila, Pam, Sonia, Pat.... Well, thanks to all (DH included... always so kind to take your wives at the show!): you have been so kind bringing us a lot of joy!!
Thanks to our guests: Laura Lattuada, Les Fèes Brodeuses e Patrizia Martellini. You have been so sweet and it has been wonderful to be with us during two days of chit chats and laughs! How it would be without you??
Thanks for our "far" supporters, my wonderful friend Anita Diamond, a special friend with a special place in my heart, and Marinella Paoletti, who I deeply would like to meet in person.

Too little time for my exchanges...


Uno splendido exchange, quello con la dolce Simone... Qualche tempo fa è arrivato il suo pacco pieno di regali per l'exchange, giunto alla tappa invernale: che sorpresa!!!


A wonderful exchange the one with my sweet friend Simone... Days ago her package for me arrived fulfilled with lovely presents for our exchange, now at the winter step: whatta surpriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise!!!



Una volta aperto tutto sono rimasta senza parole!!! Quante chicche!! Quanti bei regali!!! E anche per i miei due bimbi!!!


Once I opened the package, I was wordless!!! How many cute things!!! How many wonderful presents!!! And she had a lovely surprise for my two kids too!!



Un libro che adoro, della LA, uno schema LK, delle carte di auguri da ricamare, delle candele natalizie, una matassina Poinsettia della Gloriana (che splendore...)... e poi LUI! Il vassoio con un bellissimo albero di Natale disegnato proprio da una delle ospiti della mostra, Marinella!!! E le due mittens?? Non sono carine?? Michael e Melissa erano contentissimi di avere un pensiero da così lontano.....


The LA book I love, the LK pattern so cute, some Christmas cards to stitch, two Christmas candles, the Gloriana Poinsettia thread (so smooth...) and then ..... the TRAY!! So lovely,  so nicely made, stitched using one of the freebies designed by one of the show guests, Marinella Paoletti!! And the two mittens??? Aren't they cute????? Michael and Melissa was so surprised and o happy to receive such a wonderful thought from someone living so far...

Third surprise!!!!


La terza sorpresa per la mostra.... Laura Lattuada di Passione Ricamo ha preparato una delle sue bellissime ed elegantissime chicche che potrete trovare in esclusiva da noi:


Non è splendida??? Si tratta della Gracious Era Purse, in esclusiva cartacea per i soli giorni 29 e 30 Novembre. Ma ve la immaginate al vostro polso, la notte della Vigilia di Natale??
